One man arrested, another sought in Sumter weapons theft

— An 18-year-old Sumter man was arrested and another is being sought in connection to the January 22nd home burglary where handguns, shotguns, a rifle and three small swords were taken, the Sumter Police said Wednesday.

An anonymous tip led police to Jimmie Durant who is being held at the Sumter-Lee Regional Detention Center facing a burglary-1 charge.

Authorities are still looking for Ronald Barton III, 17, of Sumter. Barton is described as 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighing 135 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.
