Monday letters: Care at Dorn excellent

March 10, 2014

The untimely deaths of several veterans at the Dorn VA Medical Center were tragic, and I trust that corrections are being made.

I am a World War II Navy veteran and have been going to Dorn for 12 years. Every time I go to the VA and see vets who are really damaged, I give thanks for my good fortune. I have all my fingers and toes, though time and mileage leave me with pacemaker number three, blood thinner, Type 2 diabetes, hearing aids, etc.

From the first visit, our experience has been very good. The staff always has been efficient, friendly and professional. They look all vets as if we were their family. I’ve had two surgical procedures at Dorn that went fine.

My wife, Jean, and I want to thank the staff for all that has been done for us these years that the William Jennings Bryan Dorn VA Medical Center has been my home for medical care.
