Don’t miss the PAALS UN-Gala on March 22

Head on down to “Dog-Aritaville,” the sixth annual PAALS (Palmetto Animal Assisted Life Services) UN-Gala charity event, 7 p.m. Saturday, March 22 at the S.C. State Museum, 301 Gervais St.

The theme of the UN-Gala is “Parrot Head Party.” Guests will enjoy top-notch food, beverages and music from the Tsunami Wave Riders in an atmosphere that promises to be more casual and relaxed than a formal gala.

In addition to live and silent auctions, there will also be a special Fund-A-Need auction (Puppies for PAALS) which will help the organization provide service dogs to people by funding a puppy acquisition and breeding program.

Tickets are $40 is purchased by Wednesday, March 12. After that, the price will increase to $60. Tickets can be purchased online at or by mailing a check to PAALS, P.O. Box 25679, Columbia, SC 29224. Tickets will also be sold at the door.

The event is PAALS’ largest fundraiser of the year. Proceeds will help cover the cost of buying puppies with service dog potential, two years of training, training supplies, veterinary visits and food.
