Georgia linebacker attends Clemson junior day

March 13, 2014

LB Josh Bolar (6-0 215) of Hampton, GA transferred schools before last season and, because of that, had to sit out his junior campaign. Missing the season may have slowed his recruiting process but Bolar is remaining patient.

One of the programs showing interest is Clemson though the Tigers have yet to offer. He visited there last Saturday for a junior day and he talked with recruiter Mike Reed earlier this week.

"They want me to come up there for a camp and perform in front of them," Bolar said. "I completely understand. Not being able to play this year, a lot of teams want to evaluate me over the summer before they offer."

Bolar will attend a three-day camp at Clemson this summer. The Tigers are high on his list. "I love Clemson," he said. "I love the whole college town. I get the feeling their coaches back you. It's a real family-atmosphere. It's a good fit for me. I like how coach Venables runs his defense."

Other schools showing interest in Bolar are Auburn, Florida State, Alabama-Birmingham, UCLA, NC State and Georgia State.

Bolar has particular interest in Clemson, Auburn and Florida State even comparing Clemson and Auburn. "Auburn is a lot like Clemson," Bolar said. "When I went up there, I liked everything about it. I like the new coaches and their defensive scheme. Plus, just like Clemson, it's close to home."

Aside from Clemson, Bolar wants to attend camps at FSU, UCLA and Auburn. He did not name a favorite.

As a sophomore Bolar had 51 tackles with 5 sacks.
