CPD searching for ‘armed and dangerous’ suspect

— Columbia Police are looking for a suspect accused of shooting a man multiple times.

Mark Reese, 29, is wanted for Attempted Murder and Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Violent Crime. Interim Police Chief Ruben Santiago said Reese should be considered armed and dangerous.

The shooting occured around 3 p.m. Wednesday in the 4600 block of Monticello Road.

Police say Reese and the victim got into an argument that escalated when Reese allegedly pulled out a gun and shot the victim several times.

The victim went to a local cellular store and witnesses called 911, interim Chief Santiago said. The victim was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

Reese is known to frequent 100 Lorick Circle and Pelican Drive, interim Chief Santiago said. Anyone with information is asked to contact Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC or text “TIPSC” to CRIMES (274637).
