— Police are searching for a 70-year-old man who left for church on Sunday morning and never returned.

Eugene Scott was last seen Hyatt Avenue about 10 a.m. Sunday after he told a caregiver he was heading to Sunday services. Scott did not make it to church, according to the Columbia Police Department.

Scott commonly left his residence to run errands, but loved ones are concerned about him. He has a health condition that requires medication, has impaired vision in his left eye and has difficulty walking.

Scott — who was last seen wearing jeans and a grey T-shirt and a dark blue windbreaker style jacket — is described as a black male, with grey hair, brown eyes weighing approximately 160 pounds and standing 5-foot-10.

Interim Police Chief Melron Kelly said citizens with information about Scott’s whereabouts should call, text or submit online, their anonymous tip to Crimestoppers to 888-CRIME-SC.
