— Three people were shot outside of a restaurant early Wednesday morning, according to the Richland County Sheriff's Department.

Sgt. Curtis Wilson, a Sheriff's Department spokesman, said the incident happened around 4:15 a.m. outside Mobay Caribbean Restaurant and Grill on Parklane Road.

"A group of people started arguing inside the restaurant then two men went outside," Sgt. Wilson said. "One of the men fired multiple shots at the other."

An on-duty security guard, who tried to break up the fight, was hit by a bullet, Sgt. Wilson said.

Both suspects and the security guard were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The Richland County Sheriff's Department continues to investigate.
