Silver Foxes nip T-Wolves

March 19, 2014

Dutch Fork improved to 5-2 with a 7-6 Region 5-4A baseball win at White Knoll on Tuesday. The Silver Foxes are 2-1 in region matters. The Timberwolves fell to 2-5, 1-2.

DF trailed early but gained the lead for good with a three-run burst in the fourth inning. T.J. Shook had the big blow – a two-run double. Avery Bone, who walked prior to Shook’s two-bagger, later scored what proved to be the game-winning run on a balk.

Zach Zeising was the winning pitcher in relief of Erik Holton, allowing one run and five hits in four innings of work out of the bullpen. Zeising struck out four with no walks.

Shook had two hits and the two RBI, while Bone also had two hits and scored three times. Josh Carter also had a good game at the plate with two hits and two RBIs.

Jason Linder, Calev Grubbs and Mac McCurdy had two hits apiece for the Timberwolves.
