Mississippi linebacker holding a Clemson offer

March 21, 2014

LB Leo Lewis III (6-0 238) of Brookhaven, MS is in the process of building a relationship with Clemson defensive coordinator Brent Venables. The Tigers have offered and Lewis says Clemson is a school that does interest him.

"I've always been a fan of Clemson," he said. "It's a great school with a great tradition. Right now, I'm just getting to know coach Venables and I do plan on visiting there."

Lewis has attended junior days at Mississippi State and Alabama. Both have offered. He said the visit were very similar.

"Both schools showed me a great time," Lewis said. "I've built great relationships with their coaches and they both have a lot to offer. I loved the facilities, the campuses...everything."

He will visit Ole Miss Friday and plans to attend a spring practice. Lewis wants to get an up close look at how things work with the program. He says he does not have any favorites and is taking the recruiting process slowly.

"Right now, I'm more focused on my schoolwork," he said. "This summer, when I have more time, I will start looking more at the schools recruiting me."

His offers include Clemson, Ole Miss, Alabama, Mississippi State, UCLA, California, Florida, Florida State, Arkansas, Auburn, LSU, Missouri, Texas A&M, Tennessee and Oregon State.
