Monday letters: Why blame ‘stand your ground’ for kids’ deaths?

March 24, 2014

— State Rep. Harold Mitchell, D-Spartanburg, is totally wrong. He introduced a bill that would limit the “stand your ground” law. He states that we are tired of black and brown kids getting killed. One way to stop that is to stop breaking into homes and businesses.

It’s amazing how people like Mr. Mitchell never address the real problem. Most black and brown kids are killed by members of their own race. Black-on-black crime is a big problem.
