— Richland County Sheriff’s Deputies are searching for a suspect accused of armed robbery.

Sheriff Leon Lott said the masked suspect entered the Family Dollar at 1735 Decker Blvd. just before 8 p.m. March 17 and presented a gun.

As the suspect approached the counter, one person managed to get out of the building and call 911, Sheriff Lott said.

The suspect then found another person and demanded money from the register.

“The victim was unable to open the register without a manger,” Sheriff Lott said. “The suspect then fled the business on foot.”

The suspect was captured on video surveillance.
