— A Lake Carolina home is considered to be a total loss after an early morning fire, according to the Columbia Fire Department.

Units, who arrived to the house on Darlington Oak Court about 3:30 a.m. Thursday morning, said the home was fully involved and threatening neighboring homes.

“Additional units were dispatched to assist in fire operations and to protect surrounding homes,” Brick Lewis, a Columbia Fire Department spokesman, said.

The fire is currently under control, and there are no injuries at this time, Lewis said.

The fire is under investigation by the Richland County Fire Marshal’s Office.

Lewis said the home suffered significant damage and is considered a total loss.
