Former ABC meteorologist heads to Japan

A former meteorologist at ABC Columbia has joined a massive Japanese broadcaster.

Jonathan Oh announced on Facebook this morning that he has joined the weather team at NHK World, Japan's public broadcasting station.

Oh, who announced his departure fro ABC Columbia on March 7, said he would be anchoring weather forecasts for Newsline, the flagship program that Oh said reached close to 200 countries and more than 270 million households.

The Lexington native also had a message for his fans back home:

"Make sure to also stay tuned to Good Morning Columbia. I'll have a special message coming up really soon. Thanks again for your support, and God bless."
