Sunday letters: Developer would make good candidate

March 30, 2014

— Developer Terry Brown’s remarks to Columbia Rotarians (“Are S.C.’s politics chilling commerce?” March 11) were refreshing and applauded by my circle of friends, mostly female.

We believe that Mr. Brown, whom none of us has ever met, should run for public office. South Carolina, and especially Columbia, needs his type of leadership: He spoke in a nonpartisan fashion, with obvious intelligence and common sense.

Should he consider running, there would be a huge outpouring of support for his campaign.

It is no wonder he was selected chairman and CEO of such a successful firm as Edens, the nation’s largest privately owned shopping center developer.
