Wednesday letters: Properly vet baseball park

Posted on April 2, 2014

— A through vetting of the cost and benefits of the proposed baseball ballpark on Bull Street will protect the integrity of the project’s worth. Why are our mayor and a couple of council members in such a hurry to risk taxpayers’ money without properly investigating its cost and benefits?

The cost of construction for the Greenville ballpark was paid by the team owner. Columbia is being short changed. The mayor and council need to take a breather and do the proper vetting of this project.
