COLUMBIA, SC — Columbia police added a third count of attempted murder against Jacob O’Nay Green following the weekend fight and shooting in Five Points that left a man shot in the leg.
The 23-year-old Columbia man was arrested Monday at an apartment on Riverwind Drive, not far from Dutch Square.
Green , who was denied bond during a court hearing Tuesday, is accused of shooting into a moving car carrying three people, including the victim.
The incident happened around 12:45 a.m. Saturday when witnesses reported seeing an argument between the victim and alleged shooter at 818 Harden Street.
An acquaintance of one of the men pulled the victim away from the fight, witnesses said. Green is accused of firing a gun into their car several times as they sought to flee the area. The victim was hit in the leg. The driver of the car took him to a local hospital fir treatment of the injury.
Wednesday, Columbia Police added a third charge of attempted murder after it was determined that there was a third person in the fleeing car.
Green has been charged with three counts of attempted murder plus discharging a weapon into an occupied moving vehicle and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
A second suspect has been arrested in connection with the Saturday shooting. Shante Lavontay Tabor, 24, was charged with accessory after the fact of a felony. Tabor allegedly witnessed the shooting but did not notify police, and gave false information to police when questioned about the incident.
