Governor’s schedule and activities

Gov. Nikki Haley’s schedule for the rest of this week, released Monday by her staff, is:

Tuesday, 9:30 a.m. – Meet executives and tour Williamsburg Regional Hospital, Kingstree.

Wednesday, 9:30 a.m. – Cabinet meeting, State House complex

Wednesday, 4:30 p.m. – Host the 2014 First Family’s Annual Easter Egg Hunt, Governor’s Mansion complex

Thursday, noon – Address general membership meeting, Home Builders Association of Greater Columbia, Columbia

According to her staff, the governor’s activities last week included:

16 – Economic development activities, including 13 calls and meetings while on a three-day trip to Canada

5 – Speeches, to the Economic Club of Canada, the Canadian Club of Ottawa, the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, the Montreal Council on Foreign Relations, and a roundtable discussion with the American Chamber of Commerce in Canada

4 each – Meetings with officials while in Canada, including U.S. Ambassador Bruce Heyman, Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper, and Indian Ambassador to Canada Nirmal Verma; also, ceremonial duties, a Child Abuse Prevention Month press conference, a meeting with Richard Carroll Elementary School students at the State House, the grand opening of the Early Autism Project’s new facility in West Columbia and taking part in the awards ceremony at the Family Circle Cup women’s tennis championship in Charleston

1 – Legislative meeting

Busiest day – Tuesday, with nine activities

Slowest day – Thursday, with two activities

Of note – Haley’s schedule included one Sunday activity, the Family Circle Cup championship
