SC Gov Nikki Haley

MARY ANN CHASTAIN — AP

— I am sure Gov. Nikki Haley wants to improve the lives of the people of South Carolina. That said, which of our South Carolinians interest her?

Our state has hundreds of low-income people; I would guess there are many “no income” people. Expanded Medicaid would help many of them. Yet our governor refuses to accept it. Many of us know that S.C. taxpayers will be paying for it whether or not it is accepted.

Would Gov. Haley go to her grocery store, fill a cart with steaks, hams, lobster tails and other high-priced items, pay for this and then give the cart to someone who looks well-to-do? This is exactly what she is doing with expanded Medicaid.
