— Crews in Kershaw County battled a house fire in Elgin on Friday morning.

Chief Dennis Ray with Lugoff Fire said his crews joined those from the county to fight the fire on Ashley Creek Drive.

Crews finished at the scene around 8:30 a.m. Friday.

However, Ray said the Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office is investigating “possible criminal activity in the home.”
