Go Columbia April 28: One strange family in town

April 27, 2014

They’re creepy and they’re kooky, mysterious and spooky. They’re altogether ooky…. And they’re coming to Columbia.

“The Addams Family – The Broadway Musical” takes the stage at the Koger Center Monday and Tuesday.

Taking the creepy magic of the television show and adding musical numbers results in a stage production that is macabre and darkly humorous.

In the musical, Wednesday Addams, the grown-up daughter of the family, has fallen in love with a “normal” young man from a respectable family. Wednesday confides in her father about the romance and swears him to secrecy. So Gomez must keep a secret from Morticia, even when they host a dinner for the boyfriend and his parents.

Showtimes are at 7:30 p.m., and tickets are $48, $52 and $58. Tickets are available through capitoltickets.com or at the Koger Center box office at the corner of Park and Greene streets, or by calling 803-251-2222.
