— The City of Columbia Water Works has lifted Monday’s boil water advisory for customers of Charing Cross Road from Royal Tower Road to Lordship Lane, Chillingham Road and Hexham Circle, which is located in Richland County.

The streets are located near Friarsgate Plaza Shopping Center in Irmo.

The City of Columbia experienced a six-inch water main break Monday, according to a press release.

Following an intense flushing of the distribution system, bacteriological samples were collected and analyzed by the City of Columbia Water Works. The results of the sampling indicate water is safe for drinking and cooking purposes.
