— There is no shortage of pundits, pessimism and critics in Columbia these days. They all think that continued reminders of differences and failed or unsuccessful efforts in this city are the key to successful governance. Yet the answers to the hard questions don’t come easy, particularly to the timid and vindictive.

We in Columbia need to look to the sky, to where our strength comes from. All would improve by replacing hateful rhetoric with teamwork, respect, cooperation and collaboration.

Let’s assist each other and our leaders. Let’s lift each other up and not tear each other apart. Let’s pave the way for successful outcomes and not line the streets with roadblocks?

Let’s move on, Columbia. The future of this city depends on all of us working together.
