First Citizens on Main robbed Tuesday morning

— The First Citizens Bank on Main Street was robbed Tuesday morning.

The Columbia Police Department said the incident, which occurred at 2621 N. Main St. at approximately 11:30 a.m., involved a male suspect entering the bank and demanding money by passing a note to the teller.

The note indicated that the suspect was armed with a weapon.

The teller complied and the suspect left the bank on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

CPD says the suspect is an Hispanic or dark-skinned white male, about 5-foot-5 or 5-foot-6 tall, weighing about 150 pounds, with a tattoo on his left ring finger and a brown goatee.

He was last seen wearing a dark, long-sleeved shirt with a white shirt underneath, blue jeans, a white and blue baseball cap, and white-rimmed sunglasses with blue lenses.

No one was injured during the incident.
