Does this car look familiar? It’s wanted in a hit-and-run

Surveillance photos released by the Columbia Police Department of car allegedly involved in a hit-and-run on Gervais Street.

COLUMBIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

— Columbia Police released surveillance photos of a car thought involved in a hit-and-run accident at Gervais and Harden Streets early Sunday morning. A female pedestrian was struck in the crosswalk on Gervais Street by a car heading away from downtown, Police Chief Skip Holbrook said in a news release. She was taken to a local hospital with broken bones but otherwise non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

The car being sought is described as a dark , possibly green, convertible with heavy damage to the front end and windshield.

Columbia Police Chief Skip Holbrook asks that anyone with information about this incident call, text or submit online, their anonymous tip to Crimestoppers in any of the following ways: CALL toll-free, 888-CRIME-SC. TEXT to CRIMES (274637), and mark the beginning of the message with "TIPSC,” followed by the tip information.
