Two men charged in violent Saturday morning carjacking near Williams-Brice Stadium

— Florence police arrested two men Monday when the car they were in was identified as a stolen vehicle involved in a violent carjacking early Saturday morning near Williams-Brice Stadium.

Dayshawn Allen, 18, and Paul Robinson, 20 are charged with Assault and battery, armed robbery and kidnapping. and were being transported back to Richland County Tuesday night.

Around 4 a.m. Saturday morning, two men approached a 24-year-old woman at the Stadium Suites apartment complex at 112 Silo Court. The woman was hit on the head with a weapon and forced into her Toyota. She told deputies that her assailants threatened to kill her. At some point, she jumped from the moving car and ran to a neighbor’s home and the two attackers fled in her car with her purse and cell phone, Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott said in a news release.

Tuesday night, Allen and Robinson were being transported to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center in Richland County. They will face more charges in the city of Florence, Lott said. More people may be involved in the case, Lott said. Additional arrests may be forthcoming.
