Three arrested; guns, drugs, cash seized by RCSD

— Eleven guns, four pounds of marijuana, Xanax bars and cash were seized during a two-week investigation in a neighborhood behind Palmetto Health Richland.

The Richland County Sheriff’s Department announced three arrests and the seizures on Friday.

Marquis Clark, 22, was arrested at 2111 Shealy St. Thursday and charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of a stolen firearm and possession of schedule III narcotics.

Khiry Williams, 20, was charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana. And Johnnie Hair Jr., 83, was charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana and unlawful sale of liquor. Both Williams and Hair were arrested at 2417 Kent St.

Investigators found four rifles, four shotguns, two .38 revolvers, and one stolen .40 caliber semi-automatic handgun in addition to the drugs and cash.

Sheriff Leon Lott said the investigation was launched after citizens alerted authorities to concerns in the community. He asked that any citizens who know about crime share their information with CrimeStoppers at 888-CRIME-SC.
