Former Conway policeman arrested for domestic violence

— A former Conway, SC police officer was arrested by SLED agents Wednesday, accused of beating up his wife of 15 years, SLED said in a news release. According to the warrant, Sandroy John Edwards, 35, attacked his wife at their home in Horry County on April 20th.

A witness told authorities the physical abuse continued even after they arrived at the house. The witness told investigators that Michelle Edwards was bruised around the face and wearing clothes that were dirty and disheveled. when they arrived on scene. The witness also said Edwards pushed his wife to the floor and threaten to continue the beating despite the presence of the witness.

The warrant points out the disparity in size between the Edwardses, stating that Sandroy Edwards, at 287 pounds, weights 140 pounds more than his wife.

If convicted, Edwards could be find between $1,000 and $2,500 and jailed for up to 30 days.
