LEXINGTON ARTISANS MARKET: 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday at Post 7 of the American Legion, 211 American Legion Drive, Lexington. Showcasing more than 20 of the Midlands’ artisans, the event will include baskets, pottery, paintings, handmade sterling silver and copper gemstone jewelry, needlework, woodworking, art glass, organic soaps, lotions and more. Featured artist will be jewelry maker Gene Eaker. A silent auction of sports and entertainment memorabilia will be held throughout the show, with a portion of the proceeds benefitting Post 7 and its programs. Police, fire and 911

PUBLIC SAFETY JOB FAIR: 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the Columbia Police Department, 1 Justice Square. The city is recruiting public safety employees. Applications will be accepted on the spot for police chemist, Class I and Class III police officer, probationary firefighter, telecommunications training officer, 911 telecommunicator/call taker. Steven Whetstone at City Art

CITY ART GALLERY: Steven Whetstone’s solo exhibition “Transcendent,” will be up Thursday through June 21 at 1224 Lincoln St. An artist’s reception will be held 5:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday.
