S.C. BOOK FESTIVAL 2014: The 2014 S.C. Book Festival will be held Friday-May 18 at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center, 1101 Lincoln St. More information is available at www.scbookfestival.org.

AN AFTERNOON WITH CHRISTOPHER PAUL CURTIS: Meet the author of “The Watsons Go to Birmingham - 1963” and “Bud, Not Buddy,” 2:40-3:30 p.m. May 18 in the Richland Room at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center, 1101 Lincoln St. Part of the S.C. THE LITERARY VINE: An evening of wine, beer, music, food and a variety of different activities, 7:30-9:30 p.m. Saturday at the Richland Library Main Branch, 1431 Assembly St. Entertainment will be provided by the Reggie Sullivan Trio and several authors from the S.C. Book Festival. Library staff members will provide demonstrations of the library’s downloadable resources, including e-books, e-magazines and more. Hosted by the Richland Library Friends.
