Giella says no more visits for him

May 15, 2014

OL Zach Giella of Augusta committed to Clemson Wednesday but said after making his pledge that he still planned to take other official visits. Giella said he would take all five visits and that LSU in particular would continue to recruit him hard.

Clemson coach Dabo Swinney has a policy that players committed to the Tigers can't take any more visits and expect him to honor the commitment. Giella said Wednesday night he had not told Swinney of his plans to take more visits when he had his commitment conversation with him.

Thursday all of that became irrelevant when Giella decided to drop his plans to visit other schools. And he said he decided to do this without ever discussing the policy with Swinney.

"Just decided not to" take more visits Giella said in a text message.

Giella will visit Clemson later this month and he plans to attend a camp there in June.
