Tractor accident claims life of Little Mountain man

May 17, 2014

— Forty-five-year-old Glenn Heyward Shealy of Little Mountain was killed in a tractor accident while trying to move a fallen tree, Newberry County Coroner Craig Newton said Saturday.

Exactly what happened isn’t known yet, deputy coroner Lewis Lee said.

Shealy was last seen around noon on Saturday near where the accident occurred. The accident was discovered nearly two hours later at 1:45 p.m. in a field off Mills Road near Jake Shealy Road.

An autopsy will be performed Sunday in an effort to determine “the exact cause and manner of death,’ although no foul play is suspected, Lee said.
