COLUMBIA, SC Richland County deputies late Saturday night arrested a gun-wielding man they say held a woman hostage. She was eight months pregnant, a sheriff’s department spokesman said.

The suspect had assaulted the woman and was holding the woman and her two children hostage, spokesman Curtis Wilson said.

When deputies arrived at the residence in the 1300 block of Washlever Road, they saw the suspect striking the woman, Wilson said.

Josue Caleb Salu, 33, has been charged with three counts of kidnapping and one count of criminal domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature, Wilson said.
