Clemson holding in good shape with Davis

May 19, 2014

DE LaSamuel Davis of Bamberg-Ehrhardt has drawn a lot of recruiters by his school this spring. USC, Clemson, Tennessee, North Carolina, NC State and Florida are among the schools to check in on Davis and some of his teammates. Bamberg coach Butch Crosby says right now Clemson and Florida standout the most with Davis.

"They jumped on him early," Crosby said. "He's been to Clemson for their spring game and he will visit Florida. There's no favorite and he's still open to everybody and will listen to whoever comes in. But Clemson is making a real big push. They are on him real hard. They don't want him to leave the state."

As for the Gamecocks, Crosby said they haven't offered yet "because he hasn't been on their campus. He'll probably visit in the summer."

Davis has offers from Clemson, Tennessee, Florida, East Carolina, Virginia Tech, UCLA, Southern Cal, Georgia Tech, Kansas State, Wake Forest, Oregon, North Carolina and NC State. There is no timetable for a decision.
