Wreath laying event planned at Fort Jackson cemetery

COLUMBIA, S.C. A Memorial Day wreath laying ceremony to honor the nation’s fallen is being held this morning at the Fort Jackson National Cemetery.

Fort Jackson commander Brig. Gen. Bradley Becker is speaking at the 9 a.m. event. Brig. Gen. David Coburn of the U.S. Army Central at Shaw Air Force Base is also attending.

The public is invited to the program, which also will include an invocation, a rifle salute and taps played by the 282nd Army Band.

The 585-acre national cemetery is located at 4170 Percival Road.
