Molly 'Spearman, not Spearmint' releases new TV ad

Spearman

Spearman, not Spearmint.

The Republican superintendent of education candidate ends her TV ad clarifying her last name. Spearman's name appears on her campaign signs with an arrow similar to Wrigley's Spearmint gum.

“Just call me Molly,” said the director of the S.C. Association of School Administrators in the TV ad, which begins running statewide Wednesday, according to a news release from her campaign.

Before the wordplay, Spearman promotes her 35 years of education experience and helping Gov. Nikki Haley come up with an education plan in clips that show her talking to voters.

Spearman, of Saluda, also says she wants to make schools safer and keep Washington out of S.C. classrooms.
