RICHLAND COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPT.

— Richland County deputies are looking for a suspect they say attempted to sexually assault a woman while she was walking her dog Wednesday evening.

The assault happened in the 8700 block of Windsor Lake Boulevard, which is near I-20 and I-77 in Richland County, around 9 p.m. Wednesday evening, according to Sgt. Curtis Wilson, a Richland County Sheriff’s Department spokesman.

“The victim was walking her dog when a person hiding between two cars grabbed her, forced her to the ground and assaulted her,” Sgt. Wilson said.

Wilson said the victim told deputies she fought the suspect and noticed someone was approaching.

“The victim said the suspect looked around, saw that someone was coming and he ran away,” Wilson said.

The suspect is described as 16 or 17 years of age, Wilson said.
