Head of Christian Coalition of America endorses Sally Atwater for ed. superintendent

The President and CEO of the Christian Coalition of America endorsed Republican candidate Sally Atwater for superintendent of education.

“Sally Atwater is a special needs teacher who understands firsthand that all life is precious,” said Roberta Combs, head of the coalition in a news release issued by Atwater's campaign. “I have known Sally and her family for many years and I know how committed she is to improving education in South Carolina.”

Atwater is the former executive director of President George W. Bush’s Committee for People with Intellectual Disabilities; also, worked in the U.S. Department of Education under President Ronald Reagan Ensure school and bus safety.

Atwater, of Charleston, is one of eight Republican candidates in the primary on June 10.
