Man, 18, arrested in connection with Saturday shooting in Lexington

— Lexington Police arrested an 18-year-old in connection with a Saturday morning shooting.

Quentin Cortez Jerry, 18, of Monetta, has been charged with attempted murder, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime and discharging a firearm within town limits.

Officers responded to a shots fired call around 12:07 a.m. Saturday in the 100 block of Allen Street.

Police say the shooting happened during a graduation party.

Officers found a Fredrick Donovan Byrd of Lexington, 18, had been shot once in the chest, according to an incident report.

Police say Jerry shot Byrd and left the scene.

Jerry is being held at the Lexington County Detention Center.
