Heathwood Hall Episcopal School offers camps each week of the summer break. They can range from Lego City and Whitewater Kayak Adventure to Algebra and Geometry review. CAROLINA RIVER CONNECTION: Basic canoe, sea/rec and whitewater kayak instruction and rentals. Five guided trips for all levels of paddlers, including half-day, full-day and overnight trips. CONGAREE NATIONAL PARK: Volunteers are needed for two free butterfly count events. The first is an optional Butterfly Identification Training, 9:30-11:30 a.m. Saturday. The annual NABA Butterfly Count is 9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. June 21 (weather permitting). All ages and experience levels are welcome. Advance reservations are required. Call (803) 776-4396. LAKE MURRAY ASSOCIATION: Ladies Day on the Lake, June 17 at the Lighthouse Marina, 1925 Johnson Marina Road, Chapin. Women will learn about boating safety and trailer backing. Lunch and refreshments will be provided. Cost is $35. (803) 331-8355; lakemurrayassociation.org

SESQUICENTENNIAL STATE PARK: Family fishing clinics, 1:30-4:30 p.m. July 13, Aug. 10 and Sept. 14, 9564 Two Notch Road. SCDNR volunteers and staff will teach the basics of fishing, from knot-tying to lure selection and casting. Meet at picnic shelter No. 3. U.S. COAST GUARD AUXILIARY BOATING SAFETY CLASS: “About Boating Safety,” 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. June 21 at Flotilla Island, 2390 Johnson Marina Road, Chapin. The course is certified by SCDNR; successful graduates will be awarded the South Carolina Boater Education Card. Students younger than 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Fee is $30 per person.
