Christina Zapolski, South Carolina’s representative in the Miss USA pageant, made the top 10 at the national beauty contest broadcast Sunday.

Zapolski, a 22-year-old 6-foot-tall blonde from Charleston, advanced after the swimsuit and evening gown competition, but did not make the final 6.

So she was spared having to answer the final round with a question that has baffled other Miss SC USA contestants in the past. In 2013, contestant Megan Pinkney said she didn’t hear her question about public documents and treason. And 2007’s Miss Teen SC USA Caitlin Upton became a viral sensation for her rambling answer to the final question.

The winner of Miss USA is Nia Sanchez, Miss Nevada, who was crowned before a crowd in Baton Rouge, La.
