— Lanes are open for the morning commute after a fatal motorcycle crash closed portions of I-126 in both directions for several hours on Monday, according to Columbia Police.

Spokeswoman Jennifer Timmons said the crash, which occurred about 9 p.m., closed the interstate between Colonial Life and Greystone boulevards in both directions. By midnight, one lane of 126 heading into Columbia had reopened, but traffic heading away from town was still detouring onto Greystone.

Timmons said the Columbia Police Department's traffic safety unit is investigating the crash.

No further details were available at 1 a.m.
