— The 24-year-old Irmo resident who died Wednesday afternoon in an Interstate 26 crash has been identified.

Grace Ann Thompson was ejected from her SUV and died at Palmetto Richland Memorial, according to Richland County Coroner Gary Watts.

The accident happened around 3:45 p.m. on the eastbound side of the busy interstate.

After her SUV ran off the right side of the road, Thompson over-corrected sending her vehicle back onto the road and off the left side where it overturned several times, said Lance Cpl David Jones of the S.C. Highway Patrol. Thompson was not wearing a seatbelt.
