Suspect sought in attempted assault on woman walking dog

— Deputies are searching for a man who attempted to assault a woman walking her dog in late May.

The woman was attacked by a man who was hiding between two vehicles along in the 8700 block of Windsor Lake Blvd., near the intersection of Interstates 20 and 77. The attempted assault occurred about 9 p.m. May 28, according to Sgt. Curtis Wilson with the Richland County Sheriff’s Department.

The victim said she was thrown to the ground, and fought back by kicking and screaming. When the suspect heard someone approaching, the suspect ran.

The suspect is described as black male, between 16 and 18 years old, and about 5-foot-5 tall. He was wearing dark pants, a dark hoodie type jacket, a polo style shirt with green and white stripes.
