MORNING BUZZ: Lawmakers to take up vetoes, Senate to play musical chairs

Happening today: The House will take up Gov. Nikki Haley's 76 budget vetoes totaling $18.5 million including a $12,000-a-year pay raise for legislators. ... The Senate will play musical chairs as Yancey McGill, D-Williamsburg, decides whether to become interim lieutenant governor. Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Larry Martin, R-Pickens, and Senate Finance Committee Chairman Hugh Leatherman, R-Florence, both have expressed interest in becoming president pro tempore if McGill takes the state's No. 2 job. ... The Senate also could decide on ethics reform, which the House passed on the last day of regular session.
