Vista Nights

Businesses in the Vista are open for the monthly Vista Nights 5-8 p.m. Thursday. Look for the piano placed across from Liberty Tap Room; it’s one of several placed throughout the city in a partnership between Rice Music House and One Columbia to celebrate Make Music Day on Saturday, and in conjunction with the Southeastern Piano Festival, which is at the Koger Center until Saturday. Summer movie series

Friday’s offering is “Turbo,” 8:30 p.m. Friday at Riverfront Park, 312 Laurel St. Come early at 7 p.m. for face painting, games, surprises and fun for the family. Dinosaurs at the State Museum

A new exhibit, “Dinosaurs: A Bite Out of Time,” features lifelike robotic prehistoric animals – some in full-scale glory. The exhibit, which opens Saturday, allows you to control some of the creatures’ movements. And get your photo taken atop a Triceratops.
