COLUMBIA, SC — A Florence man pleaded guilty in federal court to possession of child pornography, according to the U.S. Attorneys Office.
Andrew Stephen Jackson, 44, will be sentenced at a later date. The maximum penalty for possession of child pornography is 10 years imprisonment and/or a fine of $250,000, according to U.S. Attorney Bill Nettles.
Evidence presented at a change of plea hearing established that Jackson was trading child pornography with an individual in Australia in October 2010, Nettles said.
A search warrant was executed on Jacksons residence and thousands of images of child pornography were found on Jacksons computers, according to Nettles.
The FBI investigated, and William E. Day II with the Columbia office is prosecuting the case.
