Boil water advisory near Riverbanks Zoo issued

— A boil water advisory been issued for Richland County residents near Riverbanks Zoo following a problem with a 24-inch water main.

The City of Columbia Water Works has advised the water customers of Gracern Road, Candi Lane, Rivermont Drive and Wildlife Parkway, located in Richland County, to vigorously boil their water for at least one full minute prior to drinking or cooking.

Also, any residents near the affected area who have lost water or water pressure are also advised to boil their water for at least one full minute prior to drinking or cooking.

Also, any ice made from water that has not been boiled should not be used for drinking purposes.

The City of Columbia Customer Care Call Center, 545-3300, may answer other inquiries concerning this advisory.
