Q&A: Debby Ransom, on living in Chapin

June 25, 2014

Debby Ransom

Debbie Ransom lives in Timberlake Plantation.

How long have you lived in the Chapin area?

Since February 1992.

What’s the best thing about living in your community?

Short answer: The people and the lake.

Long answer: The people in Chapin are generous and caring. The churches and nonprofits (Good Works and We Care) are very engaged with helping people in need

And the lake. Who doesn't love Lake Murray?

What has changed most about Chapin in the time you have lived there?

More people have moved into the community, therefore we've seen an increase in restaurants, grocery stores and places to shop (Beaufort Street) as well as more traffic.

What are three great hidden finds in Chapin?

One of my favorites is Crooked Creek Park with its walking trails and fitness classes. Another is Timberlake Country Club and Restaurant (which is open to the public). The Chapin branch of the Lexington County Library is phenomenal. The helpful staff and the programs they offer are an asset to the community.
