Bridge on Old Wire Road in West Columbia to close Monday

LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC The bridge on Old Wire Road near West Columbia will close Monday for repairs, according to the South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT).

The bridge is near the Charleston Highway exit in Lexington County.

SCDOT will close the bridge during the repair project, which is estimated to take about eight weeks.

The project is to include raising the bridge, according to SCDOT. The bridge is scheduled to reopen to traffic on Sept. 13.

The proposed detour is SC 35 (12th Street), I-77 Southbound, S-32-73 (Fish Hatchery Road), US 21-231 (Charleston Highway) and US 21, according to SCDOT.
