— Three teenagers have been charged in the death of 86-year-old Willie Johnson of Allendale last week.

The three juveniles (two 16-year-olds and one 15-year-old) were being held by the SC Department of Juvenile Justice on the charge of murder, SLED spokesman Thom Berry said in a news release.

Johnson‘s body was discovered June 19 after several failed attempts to deliver Meals-on-Wheels meals to his home, WJBF television reported. He last had been seen alive on Tuesday, June 17.

A family friend told the TV station that Johnson died with his feet and hands tied and a bag over his head. He had reportedly been the victim of previous home break-ins.

The family offered a $5000 award for information leading to the arrest of the people responsible for Johnson’s death.

The State Law Enforcement Division was called in by the Allendale Police Department to help investigate the death.
